On July 4, the 6th International Maritime Defence Show (IMDS) officially opened in St. Petersburg. The Russkiye Vityazi (Russian Knights) and Strizhi (Swifts) aerobatic display teams performed in the skies above St. Petersburg during the official ceremony. The pilots flew in a diamond-shaped formation above the Gulf of Finland.
Five Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker fighters and four Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum fighters performed various stunts, including the Basic Loop, the Synchronized Roll and the Oblique Loop, especially for forum participants and guests.
Apart from airplanes, Rosoboronexport will display over 100 advanced Russian-made military products at the 6th International Maritime Defence Show (IMDS) in St. Petersburg.
After their joint performance above the Lenexpo exhibition center hosting the IMDS event, the aerobatic display teams separated and continued to perform solo.
While performing solo, the crews of aerobatic display teams displayed their individual professionalism, and thrilled audiences with various stunts once again.
It appears that the Lenexpo exhibition center will host the International Maritime Defence Show (IMDS) for the last time. The next event might be organized at the Marine Façade Port, also in St. Petersburg.
