MOSCOW, January 31 (RIA Novosti) – RIA Novosti’s Olympics 2014 photobank, which has been established to give Russian media outlets free access to the exclusive photo content of RIA Novosti, which is the host national news agency and photo pool of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games, will be updated in real time starting February 1.
According to the RIA Novosti Marketing Department, approximately 700 requests have been filed for access to the photobank, the majority of them by regional media outlets, but also by the country’s largest central outlets, including newspapers, magazines, TV companies and radio stations, news agencies and Internet portals.
“Our subscribers will be among the first to receive quality photographs of the Olympic and Paralympic Games this year. RIA Novosti photographers are placed in the best locations for making the best photographs, which will be relayed to Russian media outlets for reporting this most important sporting event of the year,” said Maxim Filimonov, First Deputy Editor-in-Chief of RIA Novosti.
The Olympics 2014 Photobank will be open until March 23 and will offer the latest news photographs for comprehensive coverage of the Russian athletes’ performance in Sochi, the Olympic Flame relay, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Games, the competitions and awards ceremonies, as well as photographs of coaches, team members and officials.
Images will be transmitted to the photobank within 90 seconds and will immediately be available to subscribers. It is expected that Olympic photo content will ultimately consist of approximately 30,000 images.
To gain access to the photobank, subscribers should register at http://photo-sochi2014.rsport.ru/, after which a login and password will be e-mailed to them. Registration will be open throughout the Games, until March 22. Please read the rules for using photobank content before subscribing.
The Sochi 2014 Olympic Photobank is another in a series of RIA Novosti’s Olympic projects launched since the RIA Novosti Olympic Club opened in Moscow. All of the projects are aimed at ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Olympic competitions in which Russian athletes will be taking part.
