MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The conference will be devoted to security and stability in the SCO region, which comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have observer status, while Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka are the bloc's dialogue partners.
On Wednesday, the foreign ministers of SCO member states drafted an agreement on cooperation in fighting terrorism and extremism for the period 2016 — 2018, which is going to be signed at the SCO summit in Ufa, Russia, to be held in July.
Pakistan, India and Iran have shown interest in raising their status and becoming full-fledged members of the organization.
