MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Zakharova underscored that Russia "remains a leader in addressing a number of the global problems" even despite being targeted by sanctions.
"After two years of open pressure on the cusp of 2015 and 2016, it was Russia that became a co-chair in the international Syria support group alongside the United States, and it is Russia, which is linked to the success of the peace plan implementation," Zakharova said.
According to the spokeswoman, Moscow stands for international cooperation based on equality, with taking into account the mutual interests of each other, and respecting the fundamental principles of the sovereignty.
