MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – Two other foreigners — Canadian nationals — were confirmed dead as result of the Ecuadorian quake by Canada officials on Sunday.
"A Colombian is among the victims of the earthquake in Ecuador, we stand in solidarity with his family," the Colombian Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.
A 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador late on Saturday, with its epicenter near the town of Pedernales.
On Sunday, Ecuadorian Vice President Jorge Glas said that the death toll from the quake had reached 246.
