Given troubled times abroad, more and more Italians are preferring to stay at home this summer. However, more and more foreign tourists want to go to Italy. That's why the authorities of many popular Italian tourist destinations are taking steps to limit the number of visitors.

Pompei, for example, has already introduced a limit on Sunday visits; the ruins will only allow 15 people at a time. Leonardo Da Vinci's Last Supper can be viewed by only 24 people every 15 minutes, and the Colosseum does not allow more than 3,000 visitors at once.
