MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia hopes for a "good understanding" with US President-elect Donald Trump, the personal factor is of particular importance in the Moscow-Washington relations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Monday.
"Especially in the Russian-US relationship, the factor of personal understanding between leaders is particularly important. I do not know US history deeply to trace it at all stages, but what has been happening before my eyes in the past few years deeply convinces me of that," Ryabkov told the International Affairs portal.

"I hope that there will be a good understanding with the 45th US president," he said.
Ryabkov said he was convinced Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump would meet in 2017.
Trump's inauguration will be held on January 20, 2017.
