"I think that we need to let them [Russia] know we are not ok with what happened in Ukraine and Crimea and what is happening in Syria, but we are also going to tell them that we do need their help with Daesh and with other threats that we share," Haley said.
US President-elect Donald Trump told reporters earlier in January that Moscow can assist Washington in the fight against Daesh.
Daesh, is a terrorist organization that is outlawed in the United States, Russia and other countries. It has captured vast territories in Iraq, Syria, and several other states, and claimed responsibility for numerous terror attacks around the world.
Moreover, the US ambassador to the United Nations nominee Nikki Haley stated during her confirmation hearing before the US Senate on Wednesday that Russian military actions in the Middle East constitute war crimes.
Haley also said Crimea’s reunification with Russia in 2014 was a violation of international order, and the sanctions imposed on Russia since should be preserved until there is a dramatic shift in Moscow's foreign policy.
Replying to US Senator Bob Mendez's question whether she believed Russia committed war crimes in Syria, Haley said, "I do."
