"This is the tragedy of war," Hecht told an American broadcaster when asked about civilian deaths in the refugee camp.
“The IDF and ISA [Israel Security Agency] killed the Commander of Hamas' Central Jabaliya Battalion, one of the leaders of the murderous terror attack on October 7th. A short while ago, IDF fighter jets, acting on ISA intelligence, killed Ibrahim Biari, the Commander of Hamas' Central Jabaliya Battalion,” the IDF wrote on its Telegram channel.
"Our fights killed and wounded a large number of enemy soldiers," spokesman Abu Obaida stated in an address, broadcast by the media.
"We informed the mediators that in the coming days we will release a number of foreigners," Abu Obaida said.
“What would make the most sense would be for an effective and revitalized Palestinian Authority to have governance and ultimately security responsibility for Gaza,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing.
“According to initial data, the number of victims of the massacre in the Jabalia camp is 400 dead and wounded,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that there are many women and children among the victims.
"The death toll due to Israeli aggression has risen to 8,525, including 3,542 children and 2,187 women, and 21,543 people sustained injuries of varying degrees," the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.
