A tool for self-promotion and a quicker form of capturing moments of one’s life, selfies are also common among politicians, presidents and prime ministers.

The rules of the UK House of Commons prohibit photography in the Commons chamber. However, it didn't stop the Chief Secretary of Treasury Liz Truss from taking a selfie with her fellow Treasury minister Mel Stride and later posting it on her Instagram account.
