Magnitude 6.0 Quake Strikes Off Coast of Indonesia

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 has struck 65 kilometres (40 miles) south-southwest of Indonesia's Bogorawatu island, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Tuesday.

The quake hit at a depth of 16.8 kilometres, according to USGS.

There has been no immediate report of damage or casualties so far.

Indonesia is a part of the so-called Ring of Fire, an area in the Pacific Ocean where the most active tectonic plates are situated.
