MOSCOW (Sputnik), Viacheslav Petrushin - The UEFA Champions League final took place on Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in the Spanish capital Madrid with the English teams Liverpool FC and Tottenham Hotspur competing for the title.

Liverpool Football Club won on Saturday the 2018-2019 UEFA Champions League, beating London-based Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in all-English final.

The goals were scored by Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah and Belgian winger Divock Origi.

In turn, UEFA's technical observers said that Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s defender and Dutch national team captain, was chosen the man of the match.

On his part, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino congratulated Liverpool and their coach Juergen Klopp with winning the trophy.

This is the 6th Liverpool's victory in the tournament, which was known as the European Cup before 1992.
