The Russian Northern Fleet has published a video of the cruiser Pyotr Velikiy firing missiles in the Barents Sea. The missiles fired are the P-700 Granit and the P-1000 Vulkan naval anti-ship cruise missiles.

Pyotr Velikiy was put into operation in 1998. The ship is equipped with the Granit missile system and the S-300F Fort air defence system and is designed to destroy enemy carrier formations.

The cruiser’s nuclear power system allows it to reach a speed of 32 knots (60 kilometres per hour) and is designed to operate for 50 years.
