This year, Halloween celebrations are bound to be special both in the US - where the presidential elections are taking place only a few days later on 3 November - and almost everywhere else around the Earth because of the continuing coronavirus pandemic. 

There is too much frightening and sad news already, some would say, and others would argue that even in hard times, we should not forget our traditions and try to enjoy life as much as we can.
