For the United States, the presidential election which took place on 3 November has been marked with uncertainty over the outcome since four battleground states have yet to finish counting votes.

The driver of the train, who was the only person on board, was unharmed in the incident, which happened just after midnight at Spijkenisse, near the port city of Rotterdam.
