Meeting a giant turtle is undoubtedly an overwhelming and enriching experience. But if you're not planning to visit the animal's natural habitat any time soon, don't despair - help is at hand in the form of numerous videos showing these exceptional creatures.

One that has been shared on Twitter earlier in the day shows a huge leatherback turtle heading towards the water through the sand. It is moving slowly because of its size and weight (these turtles weigh anything from 250kg to 700kg) but looks determined as it lumbers ahead to achieve its goal.
