Two iconic football players of our time - Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may finally clash again this August, as Barcelona and Juventus are set to face each other in the Joan Gamper Trophy, ESPN has reported citing sources.
The two clubs are expected to play the match on 8 August at Camp Nou. While Messi's contract expired last month, and Barcelona is still struggling to register a new deal, sources told the broadcaster that the Argentine is expected to sign a new five-year contract with the Catalan club soon.
Messi and Ronaldo previously faced each other during the Champions League group stage. Ronaldo missed the match in October due to a positive coronavirus test, and his team lost 0-2. However, in December he made a stunning comeback, scoring two penalties, and obliterating the Catalan club at their home, making it a 3-0 win for Juventus.
