Japan's Takanori Nagase won an Olympic gold medal in the Judo competition at the Tokyo Games on 27 July after defeating Mongolia’s Saeid Mollaei in the final of the -81 kg weight category.
Bronze medals went to Shamil Borchashvili from Austria and Matthias Casse from Belgium.

As for the other Judo events at the Tokyo Olympics, Nora Gjakova, a female judoka representing Kosovo in the Women -57kg category, and Japanese athlete Shohei Ono (73kg) won gold medals on 26 July.
