UK Queen Elizabeth II has spent a night at a hospital, British media reported citing Buckingham Palace.
The visit was not related to COVID-19.
"Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today (Thursday)," the spokesperson said on late Thursday, as quoted by the Sky News broadcaster.
"[She] remains in good spirits," he reportedly added.
Wednesday was Her Majesty's first hospitalization in 8 years — in 2013, she was taken to a hospital over gastroenteritis symptoms. Since then, the queen has been attended to by medics at the private King Edward VII's Hospital in London.
Last week, the queen was seen for the first time using a walking stick in public.
