Travis Scott has broken his silence following a deadly incident at his music festival overnight, taking to Twitter to tell his fans how devastated he was by the "tragic loss of life".
The rapper, who runs the annual Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, strssed that the local police department had "my total support", and added that he "is committed to working with families in need."
The statement comes after at least eight people were killed and dozens more were injured during the headline performance by Grammy Award-winning singer and produсer Travis Scott at NRG Park on Friday evening.
According to the authorities, the incident happened when the crowd at the festival compressed toward the stage and caused a panic.
An investigation is underway focusing on security and safety protocols that should have been in place during the festival.
