UK authorities have arrested three men with alleged ties to the deadly car blast outside of the Liverpool Women's Hospital, the Greater Manchester Police confirmed on Sunday.
A statement issued by the force indicates the arrest was carried out by the Counter Terrorism Police North West, and that the individuals were aged 29, 26 and 21. The arrest was done "in the Kensington area of Liverpool under the Terrorism Act," the release states.
The latest development came after UK counter-terrorism police launched a probe after one person died and another was injured as a taxi exploded outside the Liverpool hospital, the Daily Mail reported. The incident occurred shortly before 11 am on Sunday, Merseyside Police said, underscoring that the blast has not been declared a "terrorist incident.".
The Sun reported earlier in the day that a bomb squad had arrived at the hospital after reports of an explosion.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing an explosion and seeing smoke. A number of roads surrounding the hospital have been closed.
