The UK Parliament has been placed on lockdown after a cyclist breached security at the gate in front of the House of Commons on Wednesday, the Daily Mail reported.
A photo from the scene has emerged on Twitter, showing the suspect being arrested by a policeman while other officers stand nearby aiming their guns at the man.
Another image, shared by the same parliamentary staffer, Elliot Keck, shows the suspect being loaded into a police van.
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement, saying the incident is not being treated as a terrorist attack.
The entrance the suspect cycled through was the focus of the 2017 terrorist attack carried out by 52-year-old radical Islamist Khalid Masood in March of 2017. He killed four people and injured over 50 when he drove his car through pedestrians on Westminster Bridge and later forced his way through the Parliament gates and fatally stabbed unarmed police officer Keith Palmer, 48.
