BTS Ranked Number One for World's Most Tweeted People

A data report for this year by Twitter claims the K-Pop phenomenon has been on top for five consecutive years.

BTS has been selected the "World's Most Tweeted Person" once again, proving themselves a global force, according to a Twitter report on December 9th.
Twitter analysed posts from January 1st to November 15th, 2021, and found that the popularity of BTS and other K-Pop artists, as well as genre of K-Pop as a whole remained strong on the platform.

Three of the top 5 "most retweeted [posts] in the world" were confirmed to be BTS-related. In March, along with the hashtags #StopAsianHate #StopAAPIHate, a tweet from BTS that said they do not support racism and Asian hatred was number one.
BTS also showed off their potential as a global star by occupying first place in the "World's Most Retweeted Tweet" and second in the "World's Most Liked Tweet".
NCT finished second after releasing NCT Dream's "Hot Sauce" and NCT 127's "Sticker". In addition, other K-Pop bands that made to the list were "EXO" (3rd), "Blackpink" (4th), "Treasure" (5th), "Enhyphen" (6th), "Seventeen" (7th), "Tomorrow by Together" (8th), "ATEEZ" (9th), and "Stray Kids" (10th).

K-content such as dramas and entertainment shows captured Twitter around the globe as well this year. The Netflix original series "Squid Game" took third place in the most tweeted TV show in the world after its release. Eighth place was occupied by the second season of Hybe Entertainment's reality series "BTS in the Soop".
