The price of April futures reached $2,411.3, as of 14.30 GMT, which, taking into account changes in currency quotes (data on ICE Futures is euro-denominated), is 30.6% higher than Thursday’s settlement of $1,845.8.
Prices for gas, oil and coal have been rising dramatically in the past few days amid Russia's ongoing special military operation in Ukraine.
Earlier this week, Moody's said that tough economic sanctions imposed by the US, European governments and other allies against Russia have increased risks to the global economic outlook.
