A report about an armed man allegedly at large in the French city of Lille was a false alarm, the Voix du Nord news agency said.
Earlier in the day, the agency reported that a police operation was underway in France's Lille after a man armed with a Kalashnikov rifle was said to be at large at the railway station.
A video from the scene was shared online.
Police added that the area near the station had been cordoned off and the public was asked to stay away from Avenue Willy Brandt.
