Director General of the Russian Export Center (REC) Veronika Nikishina has announced that the body plans to open a representative office in Iran. The centre is part of Russia’s Vnesheconombank.
Speaking at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission between Russia and Iran, Nikishina said that the office will open in “the near future” and that the REC plans to organise “a business mission for Russian exporters” for the inauguration.
“In addition, we are working on the possibility of opening a pavilion of Russian goods, which will allow Iranian business representatives to get acquainted with the potential of Russian export-oriented companies”, the REC chief stressed.
The organism reportedly pays special attention to developing relations with Tehran and establishing mutually beneficial ties between Iranian and Russian companies.
Nikishina added that the REC sees “huge potential in increasing the supply of Russian products [to Iran]”, including those related to the agro-industrial complex, including machinery, components, localisation of production and others.
“At the same time, we look forward to bolstering bilateral cooperation in terms of supply of Iranian high-priority goods, including construction materials, to the Russian market”, she further emphasised.
