Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have been restructuring its squad ahead of the start of the 2022-23 season. The first to depart the club was sporting director Leonardo Nascimento de Araujo and now another important man from the French outfit's coaching department has been ordered to leave the Ligue 1 champions.

For weeks, French media had been reporting that PSG were on the verge of splitting with their manager Mauricio Pochettino. On Tuesday, the club confirmed that it had officially parted ways with the Argentine head coach.
"Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his role at the club. The Argentine coach and his team joined the club in January 2021. A former captain of the Rouge and Bleus, Pochettino took charge of 84 competitive games," French giants said in a statement.
"Under his tenure, Paris Saint-Germain won the 2020 Trophee des Champions and the 2020/21 Coupe de France, as well as the club's historic 10th Ligue 1 title last April. The club would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future," the statement added.
Pochettino joined PSG in January 2021 and powered them to their 10th Ligue title last month. But he could not guide them to their maiden UEFA Champions League title which is what's believed to have cost him his job at the Parc des Princes.
Pochettino's contract with PSG ran through June 2023, but his exit paved the way for Christophe Galtier to be named as the club's new manager.
PSG announced his appointment as the club's new boss during a press conference at the club's headquarters in Paris.
"Yes, I am emotional, yes I am proud. I am fully aware of the responsibility placed on me, that PSG had a huge season. I have prepared myself for this. If I have accepted these responsibilities, it is because I feel I am capable," Galtier said in his first comments as the French side's head coach.
