Referendum on Joining Russia in Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye

Referendums in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye began on Friday morning. All four regions expressed their interest in holding a referendum as transparently and legitimately as possible and being open to the scrutiny of international observers. Amid the threat of Ukrainian shelling and sabotage during the referendums, the authorities of the DPR and LPR, and the regions of Zaporozhye and Kherson installed increased security measures.
