Spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova addressed the attacks during a briefing on Saturday.
“We are outraged by the lack of an adequate response from the German authorities to acts of vandalism committed on October 10, 2022, by organized groups of perpetrators sympathetic to the Kiev regime against the Russian Embassy in Berlin and the Russian Consulate General in Frankfurt", Zakharova said.
Moscow stressed that such assaults were allowed to happen by the German police, noting that Russia would consider lack of reaction by Berlin as a deliberately unfriendly step.
"We insist that the German authorities should practically, not formally, fulfill the international legal obligations they assumed under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 to ensure the security of foreign diplomatic missions in their country," Zakharova noted.
At the same time, Zakharova urged Germany to boost the security of the Russian Embassy in Berlin - as well as consulates in the regions.
