According to Zahi Hawass, newly-discovered 4,300-year-old sealed tombs in the country’s Saqqara necropolis, in Giza, contained what may be the oldest and "most complete" mummy yet to be discovered in the North African country to date.
"When the sarcophagus was examined, it was found to be completely sealed with mortar, just as the ancient Egyptians had left it 4,300 years ago. When the lid was raised, we found the mummy of a man covered with gold leaf," Dr. Hawass said.
