"Number one, it's kind of a hard case to make that the Russians would shoot themselves in their own feet, having poor fortifications that are now inundated by these waters and in that part of Ukraine. But number two, I see a distancing from some elements of the US government, not [US Secretary of State Antony] Blinken, not [Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs] Victoria Nuland, but some people who are telling The Washington Post what to post and what not to run," former CIA analyst said.
"He [Blinken] stated publicly and a different connection. But back in October, when he was asked why he thought that US policymakers would take on China at the same time as to take over Russia and Ukraine, he said, 'you know, it's not logical. They're crazy.' I attributed, 'I attribute to a feeling of superiority, complete ignorance, and a feeling of impunity.' Now, I emphasize that last part, a feeling of impunity," McGovern stressed.
