Magnitude 5.7 Quake Hits Indonesia – US Geological Survey

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A major 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia on Thursday, data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) showed.

According to the USGS, the quake was registered at 03:51 GMT, with the epicenter located some 221 kilometers (137 miles) to the east of the settlement of Amahai in the Maluku province, at a depth of 7.9 kilometers (4.9 miles).

There has been no information about victims or damage caused by the tremor.
