On Sunday, numerous media outlets reported that the United States had lost track of nearly 1,500 immigrant children that it placed with sponsors – the number was disclosed by Steven Wagner, a senior official with the Department of Health and Human Services, to a Senate Homeland Security subcommittee last month. Social media users are concerned with the fact that the missing kids may end up with human traffickers.

Last month, US Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a “zero-tolerance” policy for those entering the United States after a spike in illegal border crossings.
