Saudi Forces Intercept Houthi Missile Targeting Jizan - Reports

Saudi Arabia's air defense forces intercepted a Badr 1 missile fired at the southwestern region of Jizan by Yemen's Houthi movement, Saudi state media reported.

Houthi-run al-Masirah TV had previously reported that Yemen's Houthi movement had launched a missile targeting the Saudi city of Jizan. The Saudi authorities have yet to comment on the issue.

Jizan and areas around it have been the target of numerous shellings by Yemen's Houthi movement.

Coalition Suspends Op on Yemeni Port to Bolster Talks With Houthis – UAE FM
Yemeni pro-government forces backed by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have currently suspended their advance into the strategic Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, as they wait for Houthi militants to fulfill their promise to withdraw.

Their military operation, aimed at gaining control of the strategic port city of Hodeidah, started on June 13 after the Houthis ignored the government's offer of a peaceful settlement, which expired on June 12. The government stated that it had used up all possible political and diplomatic means to make the rebels withdraw from the port.
