Meanwhile, the Abu Dhabi airport said that "an incident involving a supply vehicle" occurred in Terminal 1. However, it is unclear whether this incident was somehow connected with the Houthis' attack.

Abu Dhabi Airports will continue to monitor the situation with the concerned authorities and further updates will be made available in due course. (2/2)

The attack comes a day after Houthi movement targeted a Saudi Arabian warship off the western coast of Yemen.

Yemen has been engulfed in a violent conflict between the government and Houthi rebels backed by army units loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh since 2015, with a coalition backed by Saudi Arabia launching an aerial operation in the country at the request of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.
