Michelin Chef Joel Robuchon Dies at 73 - Official

Robuchon, who was born in 1945 in the French city of Poitiers. He was named among the best craftsmen in France in 1976, crowned cook of the century in 1990, one of the cooks at the "dinner of the century," and for years held the most Michelin stars in the world.

The famous chef operated a number of restaurants worldwide, including ones in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London and Paris. He has published several cookbooks, two of which have been translated into English.

According to the chef, his goal was to make diners comfortable and shift the focus back to the food itself.
