The man had entered the police station in Cornella "with the aim of attacking the agents," Catalonian police said on Twitter.The Catalan police consider an attack on a police station near Barcelona a terrorist attack, the police's deputy chief Rafel Comes said on Monday.
"We consider this a terrorist attack, but there is still a lot of work to do — to assess the facts, evaluate a ballistic examination, perform an autopsy," Comes told a press conference.
It is still unclear if the man was killed.
According to the newspaper La Vanguardia, the suspect may be a native of Algeria.
