Cincinnati Bank Shooting Leaves Four Dead Including Gunman - Police Chief

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - Four persons, including a gunman, were killed in a shooting at a bank's headquarters in downtown Cincinnati in the US state of Ohio, Police Chief Eliot Isaac told reporters on Thursday.

"At this point the shooter is deceased. We also have five additional victims that sustained injuries: three of those five are deceased as well," Isaac said.

The call about shots being fired at the bank in Fountain Square were received by local police between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. EST (1300 to 1400 GMT), after an individual entered a loading dock area of the building and started shooting.

The gunman then proceeded to the lobby area where he engaged in a shootout with police officers.

Isaac called the situation very horrific and added the authorities are in the very early stages of the investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is currently present on the scene to assist in the situation, he said, while the building remains on lockdown.
