A huge police operation is underway in the centre of the Bavarian capital; Munich police issued a statement recommending that people avoid the area.
Earlier in the day, gunfire was reported on Ohlmüllerstraße street. Emergency services are on the street.
Local media reported, citing police, that there might be two fatalities.
Bayrischer Rundfunk reports that the suspected gunman had shot dead an unnamed person and then killed himself; police arrived at the scene and found two bodies.
