The US Federal Aviation Administration reported Monday that multiple US airlines are facing problems "with a flight planning weight and balance program called AeroData" which has affected mainline and regional operations "to varying degrees."

The problem is said to have caused widespread flight delays, and forced taxiing planes to return to their gates.

In addition to the mentioned carriers, JetBlue and Alaska Airlines have also been affected, according to the FAA.

Delta and Southwest each acknowledged the problem on Twitter, saying they were was working hard to resolve the issue.

American Airlines similarly confirmed that the glitch had impacted regional carriers, tweeting that the issue was indeed caused by AeroData.

The issue follows on reports last week about a similar problem caused by Sabre, a third party vendor used by airlines for printing tickets and making reservations. That issue similarly caused widespread flight delays for airline passengers across the US last Tuesday.
