Two Killed, 4 Rescued in Moscow Apartment Building Fire

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - A fire broke out at an apartment building in Moscow on Sunday, claiming the lives of two people, while four people were rescued from the building by firefighters, the Moscow office of the Russian Emergency Ministry said in a statement.

"In the course of work on putting out the fire, firefighters rescued four people from the upper floors. Unfortunately, the fire killed two people," the statement said.

According to the statement, a fire in one of the flats of the apartment building in Kropotkinsky Lane in Moscow was reported on Sunday night. Firefighters put out the fire which had spread to approximately 25 square meters (269 square feet).
