Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Rocks India's Assam Region - Report

A strong earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck northeast India's Assam region on Wednesday, Reuters reports citing the US Geological Survey.

The quake's epicenter was located approximately 70 miles (113 km) northwest of the town of Dibrugarh, at a depth of 18.6 miles (30 km), according to the report.

European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) also reports a magnitude 5.9 earthquake in the contested Arunachal Pradesh region. According to the EMSC, the epicented was located 41 km northwest from the city of Aalo at a depth of 10 km.

China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) reports a magnitude 6.3 earthquake saying it happened in Tibet region.

No details on casualties or damage have been disclosed yet.
