According to the IDF, it has registered a total of 150 rocket launches the Gaza Strip while intercepting "dozens" of the missiles.
Speaking further, the Israeli military said that it had struck two rocket launchers in northern Gaza.
Residents of Ashkelon and Ashdod cities have reported hearing explosions in the area, while the authorities of Ashkelon have announced that they're opening bomb shelters.
Following the attacks, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Qedra told Sputnik that at least four Palestinians were injured.

The exchange of missile fire comes a day after tensions on the Israeli-Gaza border had escalated. On Friday, Israel reported that two of its soldiers were injured by gunshots from the Gaza territory. In response, the IDF launched airstrikes killing two Hamas soldiers.
Two more Palestinians died the same day during a weekly protest.
