Authorities Find Ammunition Stockpile, Identify Dead Militants in Western Russia

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russia's National Anti-Terrorist Committee said Wednesday that outlaws had been located in a private house in the town of Kolchugino, Vladimir region, some 118 miles from Moscow.

According to the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, authorities have launched a special counter-terrorism operation in the town of Kolchugino. The committee said early on Wednesday that security forces had eliminated two terrorist-linked associates who were  plotting terror acts in crowded locations. An explosive device, ammunition and a stockpile of weapons were discovered at the scene, according to the committee.

"A counterterrorist operation was conducted in Vladimir region… two militants were neutralized in [the town of] Kolchugino […] "Weapons, ammunition, an improvised explosive device and religious extremist literature were found at the site," the statement said.

No other casualties were reported in the course of the operation.

The town of Kolchugino has reportedly about 45,000 residents.

Daesh Reportedly Claims it Has Established a "Province" in India
On 12 April, Russian law enforcement officers carried out an anti-terrorist operation in the city of Tyumen, during which two suspected members of the Daesh terror group, who planned to carry out a terror attack, were "neutralized".

The Federal Security Service said the operation had been launched after the Daesh members, had been located in a residential building in Tyumen.

*Daesh (also known as ISIS/ISIL/IS) is a terrorist group banned in Russia and many other countries.
