Leader of the House of Commons Andrea Leadsom has resigned from the government over Brexit disagreements with UK Prime Minister Theresa May.
"I no longer believe that our approach will deliver on the referendum result. It is therefore with great regret and with a heavy heart that I resign from the government", Leadsom, said in a resignation letter to May.

The United Kingdom was initially supposed to leave the European Union on 29 March. A withdrawal deal was reached weeks before this date, but UK lawmakers have refused to pass it, with fears of a re-established hard border on Ireland being one of the main points of concern. The Brexit deadline was subsequently moved to 31 October, with the United Kingdom now required to participate in the European Parliament elections if the deal is not passed by 23 May.
