At Least 2 Wounded in Stabbing Attack in Jerusalem - Reports

According to the newspaper Haaretz, Israeli police have arrested an attacker who allegedly wounded one person near Damascus Gate and a second near the Hurva Synagogue, in the Old City's Jewish Quarter.

Emergency services said in a statement, that a 50-old man had been severely wounded by the stabbing and remains in critical condition. Police officers continue searching the city to see if any other individuals have been injured.

One victim was admitted to Shaare Zedek Medical Centre, while another was taken by an ambulance equipped with an intensive care unit to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, medics told Haaretz.

The news about the knife attack comes after earlier this month a man was killed at the Hawara checkpoint near the West Bank city of Nablus following an alleged attempt to stab several people, while another suspect was severely wounded.
