Lyon Blast Suspect Charged With Attempted Murder, Terrorist Conspiracy - Reports

An explosion that took place at the corner of Victor Hugo Street and Sala Street in the French city of Lyon last Friday injured 14 people.

A suspect in last week's blast in the French city of Lyon has been charged with attempted murder and terrorist conspiracy, the Paris prosecutor's office has said. 

Earlier this week, the suspected organiser of the blast was identified as 24-year-old Algerian student Mohamed Hichem M, who later pledged allegiance to Daesh*.

According to the French newspaper, in order to carry out the explosion, the man threw a parcel containing an explosive device at the door of the bakery in downtown Lyon as he passed by on a bicycle.

When law enforcement officers searched his home, they found materials needed to make explosives. 

Also, French media said that the man was not known to police before the incident.
