Unidentified gunmen on motorbikes attacked two villages in central Mali, killing at least 41 people, Reuters reported, citing a local mayor.
At the same time, according to an AFP report citing unnamed local officials, at least 14 were killed in attacks against two Dogon villages.
Attacks on the villages of Ganfafani and Yoro left "14 people dead according to a provisional toll", local judicial official Boubacar Sidiki Samake said, cited by AFP.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for Monday's attack, AFP reported.
Mali is suffering from long-term instability amid simmering ethnic conflicts. There are some 20 ethnic groups, members of which are reportedly connected with global terrorist organisations.
