According to AP, citing the Honduran military, at least 27 fishermen are known dead, 9 people remain missing and 55 more have been rescued following the accident.
Earlier Reuters reported, citing Jose Domingo Meza, the armed forces spokesman, 47 people were rescued after the lobster-fishing boat accident near Puerto Lempira.
The accident might have been caused by strong winds and high waves in the area, local media reported.
