Flight From London to Bengaluru Declares Emergency, Requests Return to Departure Airport

According to Flight Radar 24, the plane began a descent fourteen minutes into the flight, dropping to 10,000-feet altitude within nine minutes.

A flight departing from London Heathrow airport bound to India's Bengaluru is circling over the English Channel following the announcement of emergency. A British Airways Flight BA119 requested to return just minutes after taking off at 3.30 pm UK time this afternoon. 

The aircraft reportedly has been circling over the English Channel for over an hour. There have been reports that the pilots are wearing oxygen masks.

British Airways reported that the pilots requested a priority landing into Heathrow as a precaution due to a technical problem.

The Boeing 777 was scheduled to depart Heathrow Airport at 2.15pm but was delayed by one hour and 12 minutes, taking off at 3.27pm. The flight was due to arrive in Bengaluru in India in approximately nine hours.
